Holidays of independece day
The Independence Day holiday season is not very important to me in comparison to Christmas or New Year’s Eve. I was raised in a family that doesn’t celebrate it much. In my case, September 18th is a good instance to be with my family in Talca and have a nice barbecue. Since I started college this is a date I eagerly wait for since the campus is usually closed for the week, due to the conflicts generated by September 11th. In consequence I have a week of vacation where I can travel home and advance on coursework and read texts that I have behind shedule.
My favourite holidays
Three years ago I travelled to Spain. This has been one of the most gorgeous places I’ve been to. The purpose of the trip wasn’t touristic, but family related, being that all my relatives live there. My grandparents, uncles, cousins and even my more distant relatives hail from Spain, therefore, I’ve been able to spend time with them only a handful of times. In fact, I’ve seen my family only three times in my life.
I didn’t get to leave the town were most of my family leaves. This town is called Gravalos and it’s located at the north of Spain, and at the south of the Basque Country and Burgos. It’s very small and has a small population. Although I didn’t travel much around Spain, I had a great time with my grandparents. My trip coincided with Christmas and New Year’s Eve, these dates are really special to me, especially if you get to be with your family. In this trip I went to beautiful and interesting places like Barcelona. The churches there are very impressive, they’ve got altars and saint figures that are spectacular and must be very expensive. The church that called my attention the most was the Sagrada Familia, created by Gaudí. I also got to travel to Bilbao in the Basque Country, that I specially enjoyed due to a sculpture shaped like a dog made from flowers and diverse plants.
